The event park of Pointe-au-Pic is part of large transformation project of the “Secteur du Havre” in La Malbaie. Its goal is to structure the public space between the Charlevoix Museum, the future Hubert Reeves Science Pavilion and the Saint-Lawrence River. The park will become a family-friendly space for the community, offering recreational and cultural activities that evolve with the seasons.

At the heart of the park, a multifunctional park following the site’s terrain is the hub for all activities. It is an interface between the landscape and culture. It rises from the ground through an arrangement of levels and window bays.

The pavilion gives a new topographical identity to the site and created a view point on the impressive Saint- Lawrence.

The roof’s soft slope changes along with the seasons. In the summer it’s an agora, a place to meet, to view or simply to relax. In the winter it becomes a sliding slope. This logic of flexibility was applied throughout the site in order to create an event park that can be lively all year long.
