The construction of a residential loft on the roof of the Encadrex gallery in Montreal was done in a concern of coherence with the vocation and the know-how of the company. First, a place to live, the space can also be transformed into a gallery, a studio and a workshop.
The loft is modulated according to its uses. The whole is intended to be an experiment of space and light, a true staging of works of art.
The mix of textures and materials, the windows opening onto the garden and the uncluttered space of the loft create an atmosphere of comfort and serenity.
The project, an example of urban densification, was designed according to Novoclimat standards and benefits from the benefits of passive solar design. In addition to including an intensive green roof and a vegetable garden, the design of a mobile canopy allows the protection of the outdoor terrace according to the needs and activities of the gallery.
