EASTERN BEACH

COMPETITION - SHORELINE REHABILITATION

Client: City of Montreal East

Montreal, QC . Canada

2013

The Eastern Beach design competition, organized in collaboration with the Bureau du design de la Ville de Montréal, aimed to achieve a remarkable beach concept for the borough. Located in the Pointe-aux-Trembles district, on 94th Avenue, at the intersection of Bellerive Street, the East Beach provides for the development of a site on the shore of the St. Lawrence River and public access at the water. Ultimately, the site will make the shores of the St. Lawrence River more accessible, allow recreational activities to be practiced and give citizens the opportunity to take ownership of this body of water and its attractions. The competition should allow the highlighting of innovative approaches aimed at the harmonious integration of the proposed development concepts into the landscape in which they fit.
