MONTREAL SCIENCE CENTRE

The Old Port of Montreal Corporation's desire to overhaul the Montreal Science Centre Food Court to make it more attractive and functional was the driving force behind this project. The space lacked dynamism and did not incorporate any visual or thematic connection with the Science Centre.

The resulting design concept was "The Lab": functional, experimental, esthetically appealing and impeccably clean.

It follows a strong bichromatic theme, combining white and red. The white - positive and pure, stimulating and luminous. The red - emblematic colour of the Science Centre, stimulates, invigorates, and delivers rhythm, heat, and movement to the revitalized space.

Sustainability, ease of maintenance, and the integration of elements containing scientific content were some of the challenges facing this project. The entire project was completed based on the environmental objectives of maximal reutilisation of existing resources and the choice of sustainable, recycled, and recyclable materials.
