SCIENTIFIC PAVILION IN CHARLEVOIX

'' Center for discovery, observation, research, laboratory, the Pavillon Hubert-Reeves in Charlevoix will also be a “socially responsible” building in the community; it will be a piece of equipment that can serve the region beyond its primary functions. ''

-Hubert-Reeves

This building offers the discovery of exhibitions dealing with geology and the environment. Its unique organization, distributed in multiple levels on 3 half-levels, allows to exploit a journey of discovery.

The user discovers step by step the geological structure of the site by long curved ramps enriched with exhibits and tools to observe, educate, record (monitor) the changes in the region. He finds himself drawn like a body towards the center of the project by an effect of gravity.

Aiming for the highest environmental standards, the project aims to become a model of sustainability and autonomy. The bioclimatic concept aims in particular to maximize the capture of solar energy and its storage by stripping a portion of the site to expose the source rock.
