PRIVATE RESIDENCE
In the heart of the Plateau, the Residence Drolet fits perfectly into its urban setting by making the most of the green area that surrounds it like a contemporary volume well anchored to the street, while being open to the surrounding park.
The original duplex, many times transformed and classified as unrecoverable, has become a two-generation residence consisting of a 55 m2 studio in the heart of the 300 m2 main residence.
Natural light penetrates everywhere. The multiple openings transport the gaze to the outside and become frames, changing with the seasons. The staircase, overhung by a large skylight, forms the central element. Its geometry in space creates play of light and shadow towards the floors. Dark masonry and walnut-colored doors and windows contrast with the white of the interior walls. Wood is omnipresent with the cherry wood staircase, cedar windows, bamboo flooring and kitchen.
