Finding a suitable location for a climbing centre was no easy task. The chosen site was a rental space on the ground floor of the Origine condominium building. The first challenge was to envision a bouldering gym within a commercial unit composed of several staggered, irregular spaces. In collaboration with climbing wall specialists Délire, particular attention was paid to the layout of the climbing surfaces in order to create a heterogeneous whole. The climbing walls extend from one space to another, punctuated by relaxation areas framing spectacular views. This interplay between climbing walls and rest zones creates an unexpectedly rich spatial experience within a limited footprint, allowing users to gradually discover the entire facility.

The goal was to create a gathering place in Verdun’s vibrant neighborhood, offering far more than just a training centre. With a café located at the heart of the project and multiple adjoining relaxation areas, the space acts as a catalyst for new encounters. A long L-shaped counter defines the area: first serving as a reception desk, separating staff offices from the public zone, and then, as it turns the corner, transforming into a café counter. Its maple wood slat cladding recalls the materiality of the climbing walls, while soft lighting creates a convivial and welcoming atmosphere shaped by its community of users.
