The covered skating rink at Parc Le Rocher is conceived as a natural extension of the landscape, blending seamlessly into its existing site. The design strikes a subtle balance between shelter and openness:

Hybrid steel and wood structure: a simple yet resolutely contemporary gesture, combining strength with warmth.

Roof gently sloping toward the back of the park, facilitating rainwater drainage while echoing the site’s topography.

527 custom-designed parametric hexagonal modules, enriching the sensory experience through variations of color and light.

Use of locally sourced wood, an emblematic material of Québec’s heritage, to create a warm and familiar atmosphere.

The project provides an intuitive spatial experience, inviting movement, contemplation, and spontaneous community use.
