Inspired by the defining elements of Tursujuq National Park, the new visitor centre is conceived and experienced as an assemblage of the landscape’s most striking features.
The envisioned atmospheres place visitors at the heart of a dialogue between the pavilion, its environment, and the spirit of the site.
The articulated wooden structure evokes the surrounding forests, bringing warmth to the reception space. The distinctive roof form recalls the park’s cuestas—those characteristic inclined landforms unique to the territory.
Through its strategic orientation, the building offers framed views of the grand landscape around it. Its siting was also designed to take advantage of natural elements such as the sun’s path and prevailing winds. Radiant heated floors, natural ventilation, and other bioclimatic strategies provide a high-quality interior climate, maximizing comfort and enhancing the visitor experience.
