As part of its fiftieth anniversary, Collège Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes undertook a major renovation and expansion project to redefine its identity and modernize its spaces.
As part of a broader reorganization plan—including the addition of two new pavilions—the redesign of teaching and administrative areas aimed to optimize the overall use of the campus.
The project focused on relocating and rationalizing functions through clever interventions and the design of facilities adapted to the needs and realities of today’s youth. Both interior and exterior spaces were reimagined to better align with the school’s aspirations and requirements.
A major challenge was to carry out the project over an extended period without disrupting academic performance. Careful scheduling and a phased program of renovation, replacement, and expansion allowed regular school activities to continue seamlessly throughout construction. In addition, many materials were recycled or salvaged during demolition (masonry, insulation, gravel, doors, windows, etc.), contributing to reduced construction costs and a more sustainable approach.
