Located at 1165 Wellington Street, in the heart of Montréal, this residential project is set within a rapidly transforming area characterized by significant densification and the requalification of the urban fabric. Developed for Divco, the building asserts a contemporary presence while integrating seamlessly into its built context.

The architecture is based on a clear tripartite composition. A masonry podium, articulated at the pedestrian scale, anchors the project within the urban landscape and resonates with the industrial character of the area. This base, generously glazed, contributes to the animation of the public realm and the vitality of Wellington Street by promoting transparency and interaction with the street.

Above, the residential volume rises with lightness, defined by a largely glazed envelope and a regular rhythm of projecting balconies. These successive projections give depth and visual texture to the façade, while providing generous outdoor spaces for occupants. The composition emphasizes the building’s verticality while maintaining a human scale through strategic setbacks and volumetric modulation.

The treatment of corners and the crown enhances the elegance of the silhouette, ensuring a harmonious transition with adjacent buildings and urban perspectives. Particular attention is given to natural light, views, and the quality of living spaces, reflecting a user-centered design approach.

Under the direction of project manager Stéphane Lessard, the project demonstrates a rigorous command of design challenges in a dense urban context, combining urban integration, architectural quality, and functional performance. It contributes to the consolidation of a dynamic neighborhood by offering a contemporary, sustainable living environment rooted in Montréal’s identity.
