In line with the educational mission of the Biosphere Environment Museum, several greening interventions were carried out on the rooftops and in the entrance hall.
Each space was carefully studied to identify the most appropriate areas for these interventions. The design and installation were then developed in collaboration with horticulture and botany specialists to determine a harmonious selection of plant species.
The green roofs and living wall serve a threefold purpose. First, they play an aesthetic role, giving a pleasant, verdant appearance to areas that would otherwise remain bare.
Second, they serve an environmental function: for example, the living wall increases humidity levels and absorbs noise, improving acoustic comfort, while the green roofs provide habitats for biodiversity and absorb rainwater that would otherwise be discharged into the sewer system.
Finally, these features fulfill a pedagogical role by contributing to the museum’s educational content, acting as demonstrators of the environmental benefits associated with their installation.
