Overlooking a 43-acre estate in the Eastern Townships and crowning the top of a hill with views of Lake Brome, this 600 m² retreat was designed as a place for gathering and relaxation.
An expression of classic modernity, the building conveys a traditional character while remaining firmly contemporary. Clad uniformly in Eastern cedar, its fragmented form offers a multitude of different vantage points.
In addition to the central structure, the project includes two auxiliary buildings: a pool and a water retention basin.
Following a careful site and access study, the location and orientation of the main building allow it to integrate seamlessly into the forest, minimizing its impact on the landscape.
Furthermore, the integration of basic bioclimatic principles and the use of geothermal energy optimize the building’s energy performance.
