The project involves the complete reconstruction of a 35-unit building that was demolished in 2021. The design follows the Reconstruction Framework – Building Guide issued by the Société d’Habitation du Québec (SHQ).

The new building will be Novoclimat-certified, fully accessible and adapted, built with a wood-frame structure, and designed to meet the highest current standards of energy efficiency.

The main challenge was to reconcile affordability, sustainability, and creativity. The construction had to be both durable and architecturally exemplary, while meeting the regulatory and administrative constraints of budgets and standards applicable to social housing projects.

Beyond architectural quality, the goal is to create a living environment that integrates principles of safety, accessibility, conviviality, urban and landscape integration, sustainable mobility, and access to public services and facilities.
